Welcome to Cabin Run Shilohs
We are located in Mount Airy, Maryland, and we have 2 Shilohs that share our home, lives and hearts. Lass is our 6 year old plush from the breeding of Mariah ( Stardust Shilohs ) with Fiddler’s brother “Chaba “ (Lady/Taramack), and Summer is our 2-1/2 year old plush daughter out of Lass/Rifkin. We think Shiloh Shepherds are very special dogs. We have never had more than one dog at a time until Shilohs!
Just a little history: Summer is our 4th generation Shiloh here at Cabin Run. She is our 5th Shiloh since 2007 when we brought our smoothcoat “Wolf” home. Lass is the grandaughter of our first female Shiloh, Lady. Her daughter Summer is the great-granddaughter of our wonderful girl “Lady” who passed away in 2019. Wolf passed 4 months later at the age of 12-1/2 years old. Lady’s son Fiddler passed recently in December 2024. We miss them all very much.
We chose to have Shilohs because of their beauty, intelligence, loyalty, size, noble bearing, affectionate nature and trainability.
Shiloh Shepherds are big dogs, females can average from 80-105 lbs., males from 90-135 lbs. They need early and consistent training and socialization, and lots of love and patience to become the wonderful gentle giants that mark this breed. They are not high energy dogs, but they love to do things and be with their people. They will need regular exercise and are very people oriented, these are not dogs that are happy spending the majority of their time away from their owners. Different pedigree lines can have different traits, such as a more working dog tendency, as opposed to a happy-go-lucky couch potato. Talk to your breeder about their lines and let them help you to find the best match for you and your family.
