Lass at the LER, 8 weeks old

Lass's story...
One of Lady's puppies from her final litter (Lady/Taramack), Chaba, was bred to a beautiful girl from Stardust Shilohs named Mariah. This was to be Mariah's last litter and Chaba’s first litter, and we wanted very much to be able to have one of these puppies. A girl. Hopefully like her wonderful grandma, Lady. Through the kindness of Chaba's owner, Mariah's owners and others it was decided that we were on the list for a girl. Yes!!
We anxiously awaited news about the breeding. Oh boy, Mariah is pregnant...oh no, the vet only sees two pups on the ultrasound. A month later the x-ray showed 4 puppies. Could there be a female for us in there?
The pups were born, 2 males and 2 females, and we were thrilled.
We visited the babies and pored over the pictures. I had been more and more drawn to the puppy who had what I called "Lady eyes" (yes, it turned out to be Lass), but it was decided that we wait for the LER (litter evaluation report) to be done at 8 weeks old before a final decision was made. I was able to attend this event, and before the evaluation even began, I knew in the deepest part of me that "Heart" (as she was called in the litter) was to be my girl. No doubts, no question, no looking back.

I named her "Lass", and I think she also knew that I was hers.

I brought her home that night, and John, Wolf, Lady and Fiddler welcomed her into the pack.

Wolf and Lady have since passed on, but their wonderful influence is evident in both Lass and Fiddler.
